Hayden Tiew
Nanyang Polytechnic’s (NYP)
Game Design & Technology
Ever since I started lessons in EmpireCode from late 2021 up to the time before my O levels, I have learnt so much skills related to coding thanks to the two main teachers that have been teaching me, Mr Aaron and Mr Aamuel. I have learnt Lua in Roblox studio to make games in Roblox. Python by learning algorithms which has helped improve my coding skills and help me score high for my computing prelim examination. As well as C# and blender which allowed me to apply it in Unity to create small simple games.
Empire Code has truly able been able to teach me so many things about coding and is definitely the main reason for me being able to be offered for my EAE course.

St. Joseph’s Institution (Secondary)
DSA-Sec (Innovation)
My son was successfully admitted in St Joseph’s Institution (SJI) thru Innovation DSA. I’d like to give my heartfelt thanks to Empire Code and its team for all the support that they have given us and walk alongside with us throughout this journey.
At the beginning of the planning stage, Ms Sherine was very resourceful and helpful in helping us to plan our courses to build our portfolio. All teachers, especially Teacher Michael, in the Empire Code made lessons fun and enjoyable. My son looks forward to going to the centre weekly.
I also like that the lessons are free and easy credit system kind without a fixed weekly schedule. That really helps us in juggling our time during the busy time leading up to PSLE.
The portfolio building, the DSA interview prep course, the fun and engaging teachers and team, all of the above helped us in a successful admission to SJI thru DSA. Thank you, Empire Code.

✨ We are proud to announce that our student Adalbert has achieved the Silver Award in HCIC 2023! ✨
The annual HCIC empowers primary school students to explore their talent in programming, coding and robotics, and to develop important skills such as computational thinking and analytical thinking.
Our DSA student, Adalbert Colin Tan, has achieved the Silver Award! Adalbert joined our DSA program in January of this year to develop his DSA portfolio for top schools such as Hwa Chong Institution and ACS (Barker Road), and train for the HCIC 2023. The HCIC challenges students in various areas such as Python proficiency, programming logic such as pseudocode and robotics knowledge.
Here is a testimonial from Albert, Colin’s dad:
I am delighted to share my testimonial about my son’s journey with Empire Code, which played a pivotal role in his preparation for the DSA and the Hwa Chong Infocomm Challenge (HCIC). Thanks to the guidance and support provided by the tutor, my son was able to achieve the Silver Award in HCIC.
The tailored curriculum provided by Empire Code was instrumental in sharpening my son’s technical knowledge and coding skills, allowing him to grasp programming concepts with confidence. Moreover, the tutor makes the lessons engaging and enjoyable. Empire Code also assisted my son in preparing the necessary documents for the DSA application.
I would like to express my appreciation to Empire Code for their commitment to my son’s success. They have not only equipped him with the technical skills but also instilled in him a lifelong love for coding and problem-solving. I highly recommend their services to any parent seeking to nurture their child’s passion for coding.
Natalie Ng, Class of 2022
St. Joseph’s Institution
(International)
Like most kids, Natalie was introduced to Minecraft by her primary schoolmates and almost instantly, she fell in love with the idea of creating her digital world. In a similar fashion, when introduced to Roblox, she loved creating her own avatars and exploring the metaverse. Recognising there were ways to explore both platforms faster and better, she enrolled in Empire Code. The Empire Code teachers taught her how to programmatically achieve her objectives more efficiently; so much so that she became the ‘go-to person’ amongst her friends!
Having completed several coding courses with Empire Code as she progressed to middle school, she hoped to find a school that will allow her to continue exploring her interest in the digital space. Thus, in her application to SJI International, Empire Code was extremely supportive by helping to submit a student testimony. Thank you to Felicia and team for creating a wonderful environment for the kids to continuously learn and develop their interest!

Rey, Class of 2020
School of Science and
Technology, DSA-Sec
My son Rey has always liked computer games, he loves Minecraft and Roblox the most as these games allow him to build, design, calculate his game space and challenge his creativity. In September 2019, I came upon an ad about an activity offered for kids interested in completing an Escape Room by cracking codes. Empire code was running this activity during the school holidays. I signed Rey up for it and after he was done with the activity, he saw the campus in Tanglin Shopping Centre and learned that they were offering programming lessons. Rey couldn’t wait to go back.
The lessons really helped open Rey’s world in programming and broadened his horizons about
coding world.
His teacher from school noticed Rey’s new interest coupled with Rey’s love for Science
and Technology, she suggested for Rey to consider applying to School of Science and Technology
for Secondary School.
With this goal for DSA in mind, Rey continued to learn various programming languages like JavaScript, Python and C among others from his caring teachers.
Then, the most awaited day came. Rey was offered to join SST for Secondary education. Rey was overjoyed.
Rey is currently a Secondary 1 student at SST, always enjoying his time and is looking forward to go to school every day. The school offers a lot of avenue for the student to develop holistically in an environment that allows him to pursue his passion. The school’s parent support group is amazing as well!
Thank you once again, Empire Code. For being one of the instruments that helped Rey in his DSA to SST journey.”
